James Myers

James “Jim” A. Myers, 71 of Monroe passed away Thursday morning, March 28, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born June 11, 1952, in Adams County to Roland A. and Helen P. (Nevil) Myers. He was married Aug. 25, 1979, at Monroe United Methodist Church to Carol E. Borne. Together, they have shared 44 years of marriage.
He was a 1970 graduate of Berne High School. He worked in the heating and plumbing business his whole life, starting at Liechty Bros. in Berne and then at Schumm’s in Van Wert, Ohio. In 1988, he became an owner of Myers & Davidson Water Service, where he was still working. He enjoyed dirt track racing and was a longtime member of The Lighthouse Church of Monroe.
He is survived by his wife of Monroe; two daughters, Marsha (George) Coleman of New Jersey; and Melissa Myers of Berne; son, Ben Myers of Monroe; brother, Don (Sandy) Myers of Berne; sister, Ruth Kraner of Fort Wayne; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church of Monroe followed by a graveside service at Ray Cemetery in Monroe. Officiating will be Pastor David Myers.
